5512-44 Pair + 15 Sq Ft Sound Deadener

Pairing two 12-inch 5512-44 subwoofers with 15 sq ft of sound-deadening material gives a car-audio build both bass drivers and treatment for surrounding panels. Each subwoofer handles 400 W RMS and 800 W peak, with dual 4-ohm voice coils, 85.7 dB sensitivity and a 26Hz to 130Hz response. The recommended amplifier range is 200-400 W RMS per subwoofer; enclosure net volume is 1.0 cu ft sealed or 2.32 cu ft vented per unit.

The sound-deadening kit contains 14 sheets, each 16 x 10 inches, built from butyl rubber, acoustical foam and aluminum. Butyl rubber targets low-frequency vibration, foam absorbs mid-to-high-frequency sound, and aluminum adds mass. The permanent adhesive is rated from -40°F to 320°F, and a wood-and-steel roller is included for pressing the sheets into place. Install the material on suitable panels such as doors, trunks or floors, while the subwoofers handle low-frequency playback.
