D112 MKII Dynamic Bass Drum Microphone

The AKG D112 MKII is a dynamic microphone built specifically for kick drums, handling more than 160 dB SPL without distortion so it never breaks up under a hard-hitting beater. Its large diaphragm has a low resonance frequency that pulls out a solid, powerful response below 100 Hz, while a narrow-band presence boost at 4 kHz cuts through dense mixes and loud stage volumes.

Because it is tuned for kick drum from the factory, the D112 MKII needs little to no additional EQ once the fader comes up, saving setup time at sound check. An integrated hum-compensation coil keeps electrical noise to a minimum, and the new integrated flexible mount lets engineers dial in the angle and position on the beater head without a separate clamp.

Beyond the kick drum, the D112 MKII works well on electric bass cabinets and trombones, anywhere a low-frequency source needs a punchy, present sound without distortion at high volumes.
