D5 Dynamic Vocal Microphone

The AKG D5 is a handheld dynamic microphone built for lead and backing vocals on loud, busy stages. Its frequency-independent supercardioid polar pattern gives maximum gain before feedback, so vocalists can stand close to monitors without the mic howling back. A patented laminated Varimotion diaphragm keeps the sound crisp and present, cutting through dense band mixes rather than getting buried under guitars and drums.

A dual shock mount surrounds the capsule to eliminate handling and mechanical noise, so normal stage movement, cable tugs, and mic stand bumps stay out of the signal. An integrated pop filter cuts plosives and wind noise on close vocal work, and a spring-steel wire-mesh grille paired with a rugged die-cast housing takes drops, knocks, and years of touring in stride.

With a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz and a sensitivity of 2.6 mV/Pa, the D5 delivers a clean, forward vocal sound at a small club gig or on a large festival stage. Finished in dark stage blue over a metal body, it ships with an SA61 stand adaptor and a microphone bag, so singers and touring bands have everything needed to mount and transport it between shows.
