The Alpine i407-WRA-JL replaces the factory radio in 2018-and-newer Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator models with a 7" anti-glare touchscreen sized for that specific dash opening. The Jeep dash kit, mounting bracket, and vehicle-specific wiring harness are all in the box, so the receiver connects to the factory plugs instead of requiring cut-and-splice wiring.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto put calls, texts, music, and phone navigation apps like Google Maps or Waze on the 800 x 480 WVGA screen. Bluetooth handles hands-free calling and audio streaming, and the included external microphone with its 12.5' cable can be mounted where your voice actually reaches it. HD Radio brings in digital broadcasts, and the HDMI input accepts a wired video source.

Three home screens hold more than 29 widgets that you can add, remove, or reposition by dragging them with a finger, so the layout matches how you use the system: camera view, Bluetooth controls, CarPlay, Android Auto. Custom wallpaper loads from a USB stick.

The included iDatalink Maestro module connects to the Jeep diagnostic port and reports tire pressure, battery voltage, door status, engine codes, and user-configurable gauges on screen. It also retains the factory backup camera along with rear guideline display. Owners of the Alpine OEM premium amplified system can keep it by adding the KCX-F200INT interface, sold separately.

On the audio side, a 16W RMS x 4 built-in amplifier runs the factory speakers, while three 4V pre-outs, a 5-band graphic EQ, and a 24-bit DAC leave room for outboard amplifiers and a subwoofer later. Two RCA camera inputs cover front and rear views for trail spotting or backing up to a trailer.
