American DJ AX2 Lighting Controller Powered by ONYX Obsidian Control Systems ADJ

The AX2 is a compact, fully integrated lighting console running the ONYX platform from Obsidian Control Systems. It processes 32 universes of Art-Net, sACN and ONYX X-Net inside the console itself, so large shows do not require an external processing network or the cost and rack space that comes with one.

The control surface is built for fast hands: a 15.6" Full HD multi-touch screen with adjustable brightness, 8 digital rotary encoders with push and status LEDs for fixture parameters, a 3.5" RGB touchscreen for parameter groups, effects, fanning and global timing, a full numerical keypad, a grandmaster rotary fader and 10 sixty-millimeter playback faders each with four assignable buttons. A dedicated Go section covers Go, Pause, Snap and Release, with Blind, Highlight, Last and Next buttons alongside.

Inside is an Intel i5 Hexa-Core CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and high-speed NVMe storage on Windows 11 IoT Embedded, cooled by a quiet copper heat pipe design. Boot times are short and the console is ready to run a show on short notice. The DYLOS Media Engine with 5 zones of pixel control is included.

Connectivity covers 4 DMX/RDM universes on 5-pin locking XLR, dual Gigabit network ports, SMPTE timecode in and out, MIDI in/out/thru, audio out and mic in, plus two DisplayPort outputs for external 4K touch displays.

At 19.8 lb and 21.3" wide, it fits a road case, a rehearsal room table or a permanent FOH position in theaters, houses of worship, festivals and touring rigs.
