Arturia KEYSTEP PRO Black Polyphonic Sequencing Midi/USB Keyboard Controller

KeyStep Pro is a 37-key sequencing controller built for people running several pieces of gear at once. The three-octave Slimkey keyboard is velocity and aftertouch sensitive, with an LED above every key for visual feedback while sequences run.

Four independent polyphonic sequencer tracks each hold 16 patterns of up to 64 steps, with up to 16 notes of polyphony per step. Pitch, velocity, gate length, time shift, and probability are editable per note, and scale quantization with user scales keeps parts in key. Real-time, step, quantized, and unquantized recording are all supported, along with pattern randomization, a looper, and two random playing modes. A separate 24-part drum sequencer with polyrhythm support handles rhythm tracks, and chains link up to 16 patterns into full songs or set sections. Scenes snapshot every sequence in a pattern for instant switching, and projects save to onboard memory.

Connectivity is the other half of the story: four sets of CV, Gate, and Mod outputs, eight dedicated drum gate outputs, one MIDI in and two MIDI outs, USB, clock in and out with reset for Eurorack, a metronome with built-in speaker and line output, and a sustain pedal input. That covers Eurorack modules, analog synths, drum machines, and VST plugins running together.

A seven-mode arpeggiator across five octaves, chord mode, and a controller mode with five assignable, automatable CC encoders round it out. The unit measures 23.2 x 8.2 x 1.5 in and weighs 5.9 lb.
