Product Description
The sequencer holds eight polyphonic sequences in memory, recalled by turning a knob. Each sequence runs up to 64 steps with up to eight notes per step, and supports Rest, Tie, and Legato entry. You can record, overdub, and transpose in real time while still playing the keyboard live, and gate time and swing settings change the feel of a pattern mid-performance. An arpeggiator adds up, down, inclusive, exclusive, three random modes, note order, double up, and double down, and chord play mode triggers full voicings from single keys.
Connectivity is where KeyStep earns its place in a hybrid rig. USB MIDI links your computer and the MIDI Control Center editor, MIDI in and out ports reach hardware synths, clock sync and DIN sync jacks keep drum machines and vintage gear in time at 1 pulse per step, 2 PPQ, 24 PPQ, or 48 PPQ, and CV/Gate outputs control modular and vintage voltage-controlled gear with 1V per octave or Volt-per-Hz tracking and 5V or 12V gates. A separate assignable modulation CV output follows the mod wheel, velocity, or aftertouch.
A DC jack allows standalone operation, and low power draw means it also runs from an Apple iPad with a camera connection kit.
Features
Playable In A Small Space
The Slimkey keybed adds velocity and aftertouch to a compact frame, so you get expressive playing on a desk that cannot fit a full-size keyboard.
Sequences You Can Recall
Eight polyphonic sequences of up to 64 steps and eight notes per step sit one knob turn away, letting you switch parts without stopping the performance.
Change Feel On The Fly
Gate time and swing controls reshape the groove of a running sequence in real time, and you can record, overdub, and transpose while still playing live.
Talks To Every Format
USB MIDI, MIDI in and out, clock and DIN sync, and CV/Gate outputs connect computers, hardware synths, drum machines, and modular systems from one panel.
Works Away From The Desk
A DC jack supports standalone use and low power draw allows operation from an Apple iPad with a camera connection kit, so sessions are not tied to a laptop.
