Arturia MicroFreak Vocoder Edition USB 16-Band w/Detachable Gooseneck Microphone

MicroFreak Vocoder Edition is the hybrid MicroFreak synthesizer with a 16-band vocoder engine and a detachable gooseneck microphone added. The 16-band design detects, filters, and reproduces the harmonics of the human voice, so vocal input tracks accurately rather than turning into generic robot tone.

The Vocoder engine is a dedicated oscillator mode with three waveforms, sawtooth, pulse width, and noise, while the Timbre and Shape knobs adjust the 16 frequency bands to reshape the voice. Sixteen new presets cover android translations, crystalline harmonies, and formant sequences out of the box.

The microphone attaches through the headphone socket with a supplied adapter, and the fitting still allows headphones at the same time. The gooseneck holds position for quick adjustment, and mic gain and noise gate settings live in the utility menu.

Underneath, this is the same synth people already know. Fourteen digital oscillator modes including Mutable Instruments Plaits engines feed an analog 12 dB per octave State Variable Filter with low, band, and high pass. A modulation matrix with five sources and seven destinations, an ADSR envelope, a cycling envelope, and a synced LFO handle movement. The 25-key capacitive keybed reads polyphonic aftertouch, and a 64-step sequencer with four automation tracks per preset plus Spice and Dice randomizers keeps patterns alive.

The limited edition panel carries a white finish and a Swan graphic. There are 256 preset slots with 224 factory presets, and the unit weighs 2.3 lb.
