Arturia MiniFreak Vocoder Spontaneous Algorithmic Synthesizer, Polyphonic Hybrid

MiniFreak Vocoder is a special edition of the six-voice hybrid synth with a 16-band vocoder and a 30 cm gooseneck microphone added. Plug in the mic or any external source and reshape it through the Vocoder FX, or apply the effect to the synth engines themselves for vocodized textures with no vocal input at all.

Two digital engines carry 31 oscillator modes, from virtual analog and FM to additive, granular, and wavetable. Stack them, FM-link them, or route Engine 1 into Engine 2, then run everything through polyphonic analog filters for warmth and punch. Thirteen FX slots include both Ext In Vocoder for external signals and Self Vocoder for synth sounds, each with Clean, Vintage, Narrow, and Gated flavors plus three FX controls.

Modulation and sequencing carry over from the standard model: a mod matrix with seven sources and 13 destinations, one envelope and one cycling envelope per voice, two LFOs per voice, a 64-step sequencer across four pages with four automation lanes, and an arpeggiator with Ratchet and Octave Randomize. Spice and Dice randomization keeps patterns from repeating exactly.

Voicing runs six-voice polyphonic, 12-voice paraphonic, unison, or mono, on a 37-note velocity-sensitive Slim-key keybed with aftertouch. There are 268 factory presets and 244 user slots, and the unit weighs 7.23 lb in a white and orange finish.
