The ATM650 is a hypercardioid dynamic microphone built for guitar cabinets, snare, and percussion. Its multi-stage flat grille lets you park the capsule right against a speaker grille cloth or just above a snare head, which is where these sources give up their best tone and where a rounded grille gets in the way.

The 80 Hz to 17 kHz response is tailored to those instruments: enough low end for a cranked 4x12, enough top for stick attack and brush detail on a snare. A Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet lifts output and sharpens transients, so the channel needs less preamp gain and stays quiet.

The hypercardioid pattern narrows the pickup angle and reduces side and rear sound, keeping hi-hat out of the snare mic and the drum kit out of the guitar cab. Dual-wall floating construction reduces handling noise and keeps performance consistent from one unit to the next, which matters when you own several and expect them to match.

Rugged all-metal construction and a gold-plated XLRM-type connector handle years of live and studio work. At 6.46" long and 1.53" in diameter, it fits tight placements in front of cabinets and inside a crowded kit.
