Product Description
Plug-in mics usually give up performance for that convenience. The SG1LE keeps the specs that matter: a 20 to 20,000 Hz frequency range, 114 dB SPL maximum input, and an 82.5 dB signal-to-noise ratio, thanks to a purpose-built plug-in power circuit.
It uses the same highly directional 100 mm acoustic tube as the flagship SG1 model, keeping pickup locked on your subject while rejecting background noise from the sides and rear. A newly designed 14 mm large-diameter diaphragm provides high sensitivity and low self-noise for lifelike voice capture, and an integrated shock mount absorbs handling noise from camera movement. Patented noise-immunity technology blocks hum from nearby phones and other electronics.
At 127.1 mm long, 35 mm wide, and about 100 g, the mic stays out of the way on run-and-gun shoots. A 12-sided shoe mounting plate rotates in 30-degree increments to point at off-center sources. The included wind muff handles outdoor conditions. Designed and manufactured in Japan.
Features
-
No Batteries To Manage
A dedicated plug-in power circuit runs the mic straight from the camera, so there is nothing to charge, swap, or keep track of before a shoot.
-
Flagship Directionality
The same highly directional 100 mm acoustic tube used in the SG1 keeps pickup on your subject and rejects background noise.
-
Detailed Voice Capture
A 14 mm large-diameter diaphragm with high sensitivity and low self-noise reproduces speech naturally across 20 to 20,000 Hz, even on quiet interview subjects.
-
Quiet While Moving
An integrated shock mount absorbs handling noise from camera movement and vibration, and patented noise-immunity technology blocks hum from phones and other nearby electronics.
-
Small And Aimable
At about 100 g and 5" long, it stays out of frame, and the 12-sided shoe plate rotates in 30-degree steps toward off-center sources.
