A18S

The Avante Audio A18S is an 18" active subwoofer that adds low end to a full-range PA without a separate amp rack. A Class D amplifier sends 500W RMS and 1600W peak to an 18" woofer with a 3" voice coil, covering 35 Hz to 150 Hz with a peak SPL of 127 dB, so kick drums and bass lines stay defined at volume instead of turning to mush. Built-in DSP with an LCD screen puts EQ and multiple presets on the rear panel, letting you tune the sub to the room before doors rather than fighting it during the set. Nominal coverage switches between omnidirectional and cardioid, which pulls low frequencies off the stage in rooms where the band keeps asking for less rumble in the monitors. Two combo XLR-1/4" inputs and two balanced XLR outputs make it simple to place the A18S between the mixer and the tops, and the included pole mounts a top box directly above the sub for a ground-stacked rig. The cabinet is 15mm plywood behind a 1.5mm steel grille with a handle on each side, running on 120V/60Hz or 240V/50Hz depending on the market. Clubs, bars, mobile DJ rigs, PA rental work, schools, houses of worship, and fitness studios all sit inside its range: anywhere one sub has to cover a room and then get loaded out the same night.
