The Achromic AS8 is a powered column PA that puts a full small-venue system into a load you can move in two trips. An active 8" neodymium subwoofer handles the low end and houses the electronics, while a column loaded with six 2.75" neodymium speakers covers mids and highs at ear height. A spacer section raises the column to working height, and the SAM (Secure Array Mount) system locks the pieces to the sub and to each other so the stack stays upright and passes audio through the connection, with no speaker cables running between sections. A Class D amplifier with a built-in limiter supplies 1000W peak and 250W RMS, and the sub carries a 4-input mixer with 2-band EQ. Two XLR/TRS combo channels take microphones or line sources, two 1/4" stereo channels take a guitar or keyboard, and a 1/8" aux input covers a phone or laptop. Bluetooth handles wireless playback between sets, a balanced XLR line output feeds a second system or a recorder, and a power/clip LED shows when you are pushing the amp. The sub covers 55 Hz to 200 Hz at up to 116 dB, and the column runs 180 Hz to 20 kHz at up to 110 dB. The sub is listed at 35 lb and each column at 11 lb, so the rig fits in a small car with the columns in the included padded bag. Solo acoustic acts, duos, small bands, mobile DJs, coffee houses, and lounges are its natural home.
