1-GSV2 Green Screamer V.2

The BBE Green Screamer V.2 is a compact overdrive pedal built around a modified version of the classic green overdrive circuit. BBE redesigned the circuit from the ground up, and the result is a more transparent voice that keeps the character of your pickups and amp intact instead of covering it up.

A 4558 op-amp sits at the center of the gain stage, the same chip type that gave the original circuit its warm, midrange-forward clipping. A 3-position Deep switch changes the low-end response, so you can keep things tight for single coils and cutting lead lines, or open up the bottom end for humbuckers and thicker rhythm parts. That range covers light amp-pushing boost through saturated lead tones from one pedal.

A switchable input buffer lets you match the pedal to the rest of your rig. Switch it on for long cable runs or larger boards where signal loss is a real problem, or switch it off for true hardwire bypass that keeps the pedal fully out of your signal path when it is disengaged.

The pedal uses through-hole construction on the PCB, which keeps components stable through regular gigging and makes servicing straightforward. The housing is sized for crowded pedalboards, and the input, output, and DC inlet are all top mounted, so cables and power run along the back edge instead of taking up room on either side.

It fits a live board as a standing overdrive, a studio setup where a clean amp needs some grit, or a practice rig where one pedal has to cover several gain levels.
