The Bose DM5CRI rough-in pan kit prepares a ceiling for DesignMax DM5C and FreeSpace FS4CE loudspeakers before the finished surface goes up. Each pan is fastened to the ceiling structure during the construction phase, fixing the exact speaker location and cutout size while the framing is still open. When drywall or tile goes in, the opening is already set, and the loudspeaker installs later without measuring, guesswork, or patching.

Six pans ship in one kit, which suits distributed ceiling audio where speakers are laid out on a grid: restaurant dining rooms, retail floors, hotel corridors, conference rooms, waiting areas, and school hallways. Installers can set every position in a single pass during rough-in, then return after the ceiling is closed to drop in speakers and terminate wiring. That split keeps the audio contractor off the critical path and keeps finished ceilings clean.

The pans also give conduit and cable runs a defined termination point, so wire is pulled to the exact spot the speaker will occupy rather than coiled above the ceiling and hunted down later.
