Control 424LP

The Control 424LP is a 4" two-way coaxial ceiling speaker from the Control 400 Series, built for spaces where the plenum is too shallow for a standard back can. The low-profile enclosure needs just 98 mm (3.9 in) from the bottom of the ceiling tile to the top of the back can, so it fits under ductwork, beams, and tight drop ceilings in offices, retail stores, restaurants, hotel corridors, and classrooms. A 4" treated paper cone woofer and a coaxially mounted 0.75" textile soft-dome tweeter cover 75 Hz to 18 kHz, and CRBI technology spreads that sound across a 130° conical pattern that closely matches the sound of the Control 424C/T, so both models can share one system. Wide, even coverage cuts loud spots under each speaker and quiet gaps between them, which often means fewer speakers and amplifier channels per room.

It also fits the system you already run. The built-in multi-tap transformer connects to 70V lines at 30W, 15W, 7.5W, or 3.7W and 100V lines at 30W, 15W, or 7.5W, while the 16 ohm direct input works with low-impedance amplifiers for smaller zones. Rated for 60W continuous (240W peak) with a 103 dB maximum SPL, it is suitable for plenum air handling spaces per UL 2043 and carries an IP33 rating. Installers get a terminal cover with top and side cable entry that secures with captive hand screws, plus captive dogears that grip a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille ships in white, takes paint to match the ceiling, and attaches with a safety tether.
