CS46CX

The Crunch CS46CX is a pair of 4 x 6-inch two-way coaxial speakers rated at 125W RMS and 250W peak, sized for the factory dash and rear deck openings common in older domestic cars and trucks. They replace worn paper-cone OEM speakers in the same locations without cutting metal.

Each speaker pairs a silver alpha-cellulose poly cone, which stays light while producing midrange and midbass, with a 1-inch Neo-Mylar soft dome tweeter that holds detail together at volume. A passive Butterworth network with a 6dB internal slope hands off at 6kHz, keeping the transition from cone to tweeter clean. Frequency response covers 55Hz to 19kHz at 88dB sensitivity, so they play loud enough to be worth running off head unit power alone and respond well when an amplifier is added later.

The build is aimed at surviving a car interior. A UV-resistant rubber surround shrugs off sun and moisture, high-temperature adhesive holds the cone-to-surround joint through heat cycles and hard use, and an anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps the frame from ringing. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former handles heat with over-coil cooling that moves air through the spider.

Textured ABS gaskets seal each speaker to the mounting surface, and braided tinsel leads stay flexible at high output. Spade connectors make hookup quick, or you can solder direct. Mounting depth is 3 in with a 5.5 x 3.46 in cut-out, so they clear most factory brackets in dash corners, rear decks, and door panels.
