CS653

The Crunch CS653 is a pair of 6.5-inch three-way coaxial speakers rated at 150W RMS and 300W peak. The 6.5-inch size is the most common aftermarket fit in modern doors and rear decks, and the three-way layout splits the frequency range further than a standard coaxial, which keeps midrange detail from being buried under midbass.

Response runs 40Hz to 22kHz, the widest range in the CS coaxial line, so these fill in both the low end in vehicles without a subwoofer and the air at the top of the range. Sensitivity is 88dB, high enough to run off head unit power and worth amplifying up to 150W per channel.

A silver alpha-cellulose poly cone produces midrange and bass at low moving mass, while a 1-inch Neo-Mylar soft dome tweeter handles the top end through a passive Butterworth crossover with a 6dB internal slope at 4kHz. The UV-resistant rubber surround handles sun and moisture, high-temperature adhesive keeps the cone-to-surround joint intact under sustained power, and the anti-resonant stamped steel basket keeps frame resonance out of the music. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former with over-coil cooling manages heat during long sessions.

Grilles are included for locations where the speaker is exposed, such as kick panels, rear decks, or custom pods, and they can be left off when mounting behind a factory panel. Cut-out diameter is 5.59 in with a 7.01 in outside diameter and 2.13 in mounting depth, which clears most door skins without spacers.
