CSMA280 Amplifier + (16) CSS8008 8" Ceiling Speakers

This JBL package puts a complete 70V background music and paging system in one order: a CSMA280 mixer amplifier and sixteen CSS8008 8" ceiling speakers, enough to cover a restaurant dining room, retail floor, bar, or office with even sound from overhead. The CSMA280 delivers 80W on each of its two output channels and powers 70V or 100V distributed lines directly through its built-in Hi-Z output transformer, so there's no separate transformer to buy. Eight mixer inputs take mics and line sources on euroblock connectors plus unbalanced RCA inputs, with 27V phantom power for condenser mics. Voice-activated ducking on channels 1 and 5 automatically lowers the music when someone pages, and priority muting lets an announcement cut through everything else. Independent bass and treble controls on each output let you tune two zones separately, like a dining room and a patio.

Each CSS8008 uses an 8" dual-cone driver with 96 dB sensitivity and 120° coverage, so a room stays full even at low tap settings. Selectable 70V taps of 5W, 2.5W, 1.3W, and 0.7W let you set levels speaker by speaker. Split eight per channel at the 5W tap, the speakers draw 40W per side, comfortably under the 64W per-channel limit JBL recommends for this amplifier. Illuminated front-panel knobs are easy to read in dim rooms, and sleep mode powers the amp down after about 30 minutes without signal, then wakes it as soon as audio returns.
