Product Description

The dbx RTA-M is the measurement microphone that makes automatic room tuning work. Built for the DriveRack series, it feeds the System Setup Wizard and Auto EQ Wizard an accurate picture of what your loudspeakers are doing in the actual room, not what they measure on paper.

The back electret condenser element has an omnidirectional polar pattern and flat frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, so it hears the full spectrum from every direction without adding a shape of its own. That neutrality is the whole point: any coloration in the mic becomes a correction the DriveRack applies to your PA, so the measurement tool has to stay out of the way. Sensitivity is -63 dB ±3 dB with 250 ohm impedance at 1 kHz.

Power comes from the DriveRack itself over phantom power, and the mic accepts anything from 9V to 52VDC, so there are no batteries to track and no separate supply to pack. Plug it in, run the wizard, and the processor handles the analysis and correction.

It earns its place in the rack case on rooms that fight you: gymnasiums, banquet halls, houses of worship with hard surfaces, and rooms that sound different full than empty. Set it at the mix position, run pink noise analysis, and the DriveRack corrects what it hears. Re-measure after a room change or a new speaker deployment and the system stays accurate.

The RTA-M works with the DriveRack PA, PA+, PA2, VENU360, and 260, and ships with a microphone clip and a case.

Features

    • Measurement You Can Trust

A flat 20 Hz to 20 kHz response means the mic adds no character of its own, so the corrections your DriveRack applies reflect the room and not the microphone.

    • Hears the Whole Room

The omnidirectional pattern picks up direct sound and reflections from every direction, which is what real-time analysis needs to represent what the audience hears.

    • Automatic Tuning Made Possible

Paired with the Auto EQ and System Setup Wizards, the RTA-M turns room correction into a few minutes of setup instead of an evening of guesswork.

    • No Batteries to Chase

Phantom power from 9V to 52VDC comes straight from the DriveRack, so the mic is ready the moment it is plugged in with nothing extra to pack.

    • Ready to Travel

The included clip and case keep the capsule protected between jobs and let the mic ride in a rack case or gig bag without special handling.
