Product Description

Scarlett Solo 4th Gen is a single-preamp USB-C audio interface for one voice and one guitar, the two things most songwriters record. The Scarlett mic preamp is detailed and ultra-low-noise, so condenser and dynamic mics both come through clean. A Hi-Z input takes an electric guitar or bass straight in with the response of an amp input, which works well with amp simulation plug-ins. Conversion runs at 24-bit/192 kHz with 120 dB of dynamic range, using the same converter design found in Focusrite's RedNet interfaces, so quiet fingerpicking and a belted chorus both stay clean. Air mode adds the presence and harmonic colour of a large studio console to lead vocals and acoustic sources, useful when a track needs to cut through without EQ. Dynamic Gain Halos show input and output levels on the hardware, making it quick to set a level that is loud enough without clipping. A custom headphone amp with independent level control powers high-impedance headphones cleanly, and the 4th Generation adds separate control for monitors, so you can move between headphones and speakers without repatching. Loopback sends stereo audio from apps and browsers straight into a DAW for sampling or streaming. Focusrite Control 2 runs the session from a Mac or PC, and the Easy Start tool walks through setup. Bus powered over USB-C, with a three-year warranty and 24/7 support.

Features

    • One Voice, One Guitar

A single ultra-low-noise mic preamp and a Hi-Z input cover the two sources most songwriters record, in a box that fits beside a laptop.

    • Guitar That Feels Like An Amp

The Hi-Z input takes an electric guitar or bass direct with the response of an amp input, which pairs well with amp simulation plug-ins.

    • Detail You Can Hear

24-bit/192 kHz conversion with 120 dB of dynamic range uses the same converters as RedNet interfaces found in high-end studios worldwide.

    • Console Presence On Vocals

Air mode adds high-end presence and harmonic colour to lead vocals and acoustic guitar, helping a part cut through without extra EQ.

    • Levels At A Glance

Dynamic Gain Halos show input and output levels on the unit itself, making it quick to set a strong recording level without clipping.
