Hifonics A800.4D 800 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier Class D Car Stereo Amp

The Hifonics A800.4D is a compact four-channel ALPHA series car amplifier rated at 800W max power. It sends 4 x 100W into 4-ohm speakers, 4 x 200W into 2-ohm loads, or 2 x 400W bridged at 4 ohms, which covers a front and rear speaker upgrade or a bridged pair feeding subwoofers.

Full Range Super D-Class circuitry and Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices hold current draw and heat down relative to the output on tap. Accu-Cross electronic crossovers provide a variable high-pass from 20Hz to 4kHz, a DUPE mode low-pass from 50Hz to 4kHz, and bass boost from 0 to 12dB at 45Hz, so each channel pair can be set for the speakers actually connected to it.

Input sensitivity runs 0.2V to 10V and speaker-level inputs take a factory radio signal directly. Auto turn-on reads a 6-volt DC offset on the high-level inputs, removing the remote wire from most installs. Rated performance is better than 85dB signal-to-noise, under 0.05% THD, and 10Hz to 45kHz frequency response.

The heat sink measures 8.5in x 9.25in x 2.37in, small enough to fit under a seat, behind a kick panel, or on a shared amp rack. Nickel-plated hex screw terminals handle 4 AWG power and ground and 18 AWG speaker wire, angled for access after mounting. LED indicators on the end panel report overload and speaker short conditions, and surface-mount construction stands up to shock and vibration in daily use.
