Hifonics HEW12D4S 12" 300w RMS Shallow Subwoofer DVC 4 Ohm Slim Car Audio Sub

The Hifonics HEW12D4S is a 12-inch ELITE shallow mount subwoofer that brings full-size cone area to vehicles with almost no depth to work with. Mounting depth is 3.17in behind a 10.85in cut-out, so it fits behind seats, under seats, and in slim trunk enclosures where a standard 12-inch sub has no chance. It handles 300W RMS and 600W peak through dual 4-ohm voice coils, wired to a 2-ohm or 8-ohm final impedance.

The 3-inch high-temperature voice coil sits on a vented aluminum former that carries heat out of the motor, which matters in the small sealed volumes shallow subs are designed around. A specialized Hifonics poly cotton spider resists softening and sagging, so power handling holds up after seasons of use. The lightweight woven fiber cone and dust cap respond quickly while staying rigid, and the UV-treated surround stays flexible instead of fading and stiffening in the sun.

Hifonics recommends a sealed enclosure. A 14.5in x 14.5in x 10.25in box gives roughly 0.75 cubic feet with an F3 of 56Hz, and an angled enclosure at the same volume matches that response for a truck cab. Terminals are stainless push-and-insert, nickel plated to resist corrosion and quick to connect during installation.

A powder-coated stamped steel basket anchors the motor and moving assembly, delivering 12-inch output without consuming the cargo area. Sensitivity is 85dB (1W/1m). It replaces the BXS12D4 and carries a one-year warranty.
