The Hifonics HEW8D4S is an 8-inch ELITE shallow mount subwoofer for vehicles with no room for a conventional sub. Mounting depth is 2.63in behind a 7.28in cut-out, which puts it in reach of under-seat boxes, door builds, and slim enclosures in small cars. It handles 250W RMS and 500W peak through dual 4-ohm voice coils, so it can be wired to a 2-ohm or 8-ohm final impedance depending on the amplifier.

A 2-inch high-temperature voice coil sits on a vented aluminum former that moves heat out of the motor, which matters most in the small sealed volumes shallow subs usually live in. A specialized Hifonics poly cotton spider resists softening and sagging over time, so power handling stays consistent season after season. The lightweight woven fiber cone and dust cap respond quickly while holding their shape, and the UV-treated surround stays flexible rather than fading and stiffening in the sun.

Hifonics recommends a sealed enclosure. A 12.5in x 12.5in x 9in box gives roughly 0.5 cubic feet with an F3 of 56Hz, and an angled enclosure at the same volume matches that response for a truck cab. Terminals are stainless push-and-insert, nickel plated to resist corrosion and quick to connect during installation.

A powder-coated stamped steel basket anchors the motor and moving assembly without consuming cargo space. Sensitivity is 80dB (1W/1m). It replaces the BXS8D4 and carries a one-year warranty.
