PXM-103

The Hosa PXM-103 connects gear with an unbalanced 1/4 in phone output to gear with an XLR input over a short 3 ft run. It solves the everyday connector mismatch between an amp, mixer, or effects unit and a snake, stage box, or console input that only takes XLR.

For best results, match the high output impedance to the low input impedance on the receiving end. Three feet keeps the unbalanced portion of the signal path as short as possible, which is the right approach: less cable means less opportunity to pick up hum before the signal reaches the XLR input.

This length works for rack-internal patching, a mixer output into a stage box a foot away, a preamp into a recorder in the same case, or a pedal into a DI panel. It stays out of the way instead of adding a coil of slack behind the rack.

Nickel-plated plugs resist corrosion and repeated patching, an Oxygen-Free Copper conductor keeps loss low, and an OFC spiral shield rejects EMI and RFI while staying flexible in tight rack spaces.
