Product Description

The JBL 308P MkII is a powered two-way studio monitor for rooms where mix decisions have to hold up everywhere else. A long-throw 8" woofer and 1 in soft-dome tweeter sit on the JBL Image Control Waveguide, a contour first developed for the flagship M2 reference monitor. It keeps the handoff between the two drivers coherent and widens the usable listening area, so off-axis response tracks close to on-axis and the mix does not shift when you lean back or when a second person sits beside you.

Two custom Class D amplifiers supply 56 W each, 112 W total, with peak output of 112 dB. Frequency response runs 45 Hz - 20 kHz at plus or minus 3 dB and extends to 37 Hz at -10 dB through the Slip Stream low-frequency port, which is shaped to stay quiet at high levels instead of chuffing.

Room tuning is handled by two switches on the rear panel. Boundary EQ cuts a 50 Hz shelf by 1.5 dB or 3 dB when the monitor sits directly on a desk or near a wall, correcting the bass buildup those positions cause. A three-position HF Trim shifts treble by plus or minus 2 dB for rooms that read bright or heavily damped.

Balanced XLR and 1/4 in TRS inputs with a +4 dBu / -10 dBV sensitivity switch connect to interfaces, consoles, and monitor controllers without adapters. The 15 mm MDF cabinet measures 16.5 x 10 x 12.1 in and weighs 17.87 lb, sized for desktops, stands, and edit bays handling music production, podcasting, film sound, and broadcast work.

Features

    • Imaging You Can Trust

The Image Control Waveguide keeps the transition between woofer and tweeter coherent, so detail and depth stay intact even when you listen well off-axis.

    • Headroom For Loud Passages

Two custom Class D amplifiers put out 56 W each for 112 W total, reaching 112 dB peak SPL without the mix collapsing on transients.

    • Bass That Stays Defined

The 8" long-throw woofer and Slip Stream port reach 37 Hz at -10 dB, giving low end you can judge instead of guess at.

    • Tuned To Your Room

Boundary EQ and a three-position HF Trim let you correct desktop bass buildup and bright or damped rooms with two rear-panel switches.

    • Connects To Anything

Balanced XLR and 1/4 in TRS inputs plus a +4 dBu / -10 dBV sensitivity switch match interfaces, consoles, and controllers without adapters.
