The JBL AWC159 steps up to a 15-inch woofer for venues that need more low-frequency output and overall SPL than the smaller AWC129 provides. Housed in the same all-weather, IP56-rated cabinet design, the AWC159 pairs a 15-inch Kevlar-reinforced woofer with a 1.5-inch compression driver in a two-way coaxial configuration, producing a 90-degree by 90-degree broadband pattern and a 52 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. With 500 watts of continuous power handling and a maximum SPL of 125 dB at 1 meter, this speaker is built for large-scale outdoor sound reinforcement rather than background music duty.

A 300-watt 70V/100V multi-tap transformer with direct 8-ohm operation gives installers the flexibility to run the AWC159 on a distributed line or a standalone amplifier, and an included U-bracket simplifies surface mounting. The same corrosion-resistant grille, sealed input terminals, and Mil Spec 810 environmental rating found on the AWC129 carry over here, so the AWC159 holds up to humidity, salt spray, and temperature extremes over long-term outdoor use.
