Product Description

The JBL AWC15LF-BK is a compact, highly weather-resistant subwoofer that adds low-frequency support to an outdoor or indoor system already running full-range speakers. A 380 mm (15 in) long-throw woofer with a Kevlar-reinforced, weather-treated cone and 75 mm (3 in) voice coil handles 500 W of continuous pink noise over 2 hours and 300 W over 100 hours, reaching down to 45 Hz at -10 dB with response of 70 Hz to 1.2 kHz at plus or minus 3 dB.

Most outdoor systems thin out in the low end because the cabinets are small and the space is open. This one restores weight to music playback at a pool deck, a beer garden, or a stadium concourse without pushing the satellites past their limits. Sensitivity of 94 dB from 80 Hz to 300 Hz gives 121 dB maximum SPL at 1 m in direct 8 ohm mode, or 119 dB on the 300W tap.

Wiring follows the rest of the AWC line: a multi-tap transformer offers 70V taps at 300W, 150W, 75W, and 38W, or direct 8 ohm low-impedance operation on a dedicated amplifier channel.

Weather protection is IP56 per IEC529 at a minimum 5 degree downward aiming angle, and the cabinet exceeds Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV, plus 336 hours of ASTM G85 acid-air and salt-spray testing. The enclosure is heavily braced ABS with glass, the grille is corrosion-resistant powder coated steel with foam and poly mesh backing, and the sealed terminal compartment uses a gland nut sized for round-jacketed cable. A color-matched steel U-bracket is included. The cabinet measures 19.1 x 19.1 x 18.8 in and weighs 44.5 lb.

Features

    • Low End Outdoors

A 380 mm (15 in) long-throw woofer reaches 45 Hz at -10 dB, restoring the weight open-air spaces strip out of music played through satellites alone.

    • Weather You Can Ignore

IP56 sealing plus Mil Spec 810 and 336 hours of ASTM G85 salt-spray testing keep the cabinet working through pool chemicals, coastal air, and sun.

    • Fits Any Distributed System

Transformer taps at 300W, 150W, 75W, and 38W match 70V and 100V lines, or switch to direct 8 ohm mode for a dedicated amplifier channel.

    • Output With Room To Spare

500 W handling over 2 hours and 94 dB sensitivity produce 121 dB maximum SPL at 1 m, covering a patio or concourse from one cabinet.

    • Install-Ready Hardware

A color-matched powder coated steel U-bracket ships in the box, with two M10 mounting points and an M6 secondary safety attachment on the rear.
