JBL Control 29AV 8" Indoor/Outdoor Commercial 70v Speaker 4 Restaurant/Bar/Cafe

The JBL Control 29AV sits between the compact Control Contractor speakers and the much larger Marquis series: a full-range two-way box with the output of a small install monitor and a footprint that still works on a wall or under a balcony. Restaurants, bars, cafes, and covered outdoor areas are the natural fit.

An 8 in Kevlar-cone woofer with a butyl rubber surround and a 2 in voice coil handles low frequencies, rear-loaded onto the baffle so the basket is not directly exposed to weather. A 1 in exit compression driver with a pure titanium diaphragm mounts to a rotatable 110 by 85 degree horn, so the speaker works in vertical or horizontal orientation without changing the coverage pattern relative to the room.

Frequency range is 37 Hz to 18 kHz at minus 10 dB and 45 Hz to 18 kHz within plus or minus 3 dB. Power capacity is 300 W continuous program and 150 W continuous pink noise, with 90 dB sensitivity and 120 dB short-term maximum SPL. A crossover with steep slopes and impedance-compensating circuitry keeps response even through the 2.5 kHz handoff.

The line distribution transformer offers 70V taps at 110 W, 55 W, 28 W, and 14 W (100V: 110 W, 55 W, 28 W) plus an 8 ohm thru position. SonicGuard overload protection and a serviceable internal fuse cover the drivers during hard use. A degree of magnetic shielding allows placement near video monitors.

InvisiBall mounting hardware, an MTC-PC2 sealed input panel cover, and a hex wrench are included, plus ten 6 mm attachment points for suspension or the optional U-bracket. IEC 529 IP-X5 rated. The speaker measures 20.5 x 12.0 x 10.9 in and weighs 26.8 lb.
