Control 88M 8" Outdoor In-Ground Landscape Speaker

The JBL Control 88M is a two-way, 8-inch coaxial landscape speaker built to mount on or in the ground rather than on a wall or ceiling. Full 360-degree horizontal coverage and a compact, low-profile design let it blend into a garden bed, walkway, or entrance area without drawing attention, while the tough polyethylene enclosure resists lawn equipment, moisture, and everyday outdoor wear. Color runs through the material itself, so scrapes and scratches from trimming or foot traffic will not show a different shade underneath. An IP-56 rating protects against dust and jets of water, and the speaker exceeds MilSpec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV exposure, on top of passing the Mil-Std-202F salt spray test. Inside, a fully isolated center wiring chamber keeps connections dry, and two stages of gland nuts seal the cable entry point. The built-in 60W multi-tap transformer runs on 70V or 100V, so it drops into an existing distributed system alongside other tapped speakers already installed on the property. With a broad 47 Hz to 16 kHz frequency range and a 108 dB maximum SPL, it covers background music and paging across shopping malls, hotel grounds, restaurant patios, and theme park walkways.
