Product Description

The JBL Control 89MS is an above-ground landscape subwoofer built to add low-frequency depth to the JBL Control 80 Series speaker line or any other outdoor system already in place. A down-firing, long-throw 8-inch driver reaches down to 40 Hz and produces up to 115 dB peak output, giving lawns, gardens, and hotel entrance areas real bass instead of a thin, midrange-heavy mix. A dual-slope low-pass crossover blends the subwoofer into a full-range system cleanly whether it runs off a shared amplifier channel or a dedicated subwoofer channel. The premium multi-tap transformer covers 70V and 100V distributed systems, with an 8-ohm bypass for anyone driving it directly at low impedance instead. Weatherproofing runs deep here: an IP56 rating, a tough polyethylene enclosure with a fully sealed center wiring chamber, and stainless steel external hardware keep the unit performing through rain, humidity, and sun exposure. Like its enclosure, the color extends through the cabinet material, so scrapes from trimming or foot traffic will not show a different shade. A powder-coated stainless steel grille rounds out the build, resisting rust even after years outdoors in a hotel, restaurant, resort, or theme park entrance area.

Features

    • Real Bass Outdoors

A down-firing 8-inch long-throw driver reaches down to 40 Hz, giving outdoor systems the low end that small landscape speakers alone cannot produce.

    • Blends Into Any System

A dual-slope low-pass crossover creates a clean transition whether the subwoofer runs off a shared full-range channel or its own dedicated amplifier channel.

    • Weatherproof By Design

An IP56 rating, sealed wiring chamber, and stainless steel hardware keep the subwoofer performing through rain, humidity, and everyday outdoor exposure.

    • Flexible Power Options

A multi-tap 70V/100V transformer with an 8-ohm bypass lets the subwoofer join a distributed system or run direct at low impedance.

    • Color That Holds Up

Cabinet color runs through the material itself, so scrapes from lawn care or foot traffic do not expose a different shade underneath.
