The JBL CSA 140Z anchors the system with a single 40W channel built on Crown's DriveCore technology, which replaces hundreds of discrete parts with one chip to cut down on points of failure while keeping the sound clean. Built-in 70V and 100V operation lets it power a distributed system straight out of the box, and a universal power supply accepts 100 to 240 VAC so it works on nearly any electrical service. The fanless 1U rack design stays quiet enough for a dining room, and a sleep mode disable function keeps the amp always ready for paging or background music. The package also includes the 2 Rockville CC525T in-ceiling speakers, built from a home-theater-grade 5.25" polypropylene woofer and aimable swivel tweeter paired with 70V tap technology. A tap switch selects 20W, 15W, 10W, 5W, or 2.5W, or 8-ohm operation for 40W RMS handling, and high-quality spring-loaded push terminals keep the wiring secure behind the ceiling.
