CSMA280 2 x 80W Amplifier + (Qty 16) Drop Ceiling Tile Speaker Package

This package pairs the JBL CSMA280 commercial mixer/amplifier with 16 Rockville DCS8T drop ceiling tile speakers, a fast option for a larger restaurant or an office with multiple rooms with a standard 2 foot by 2 foot suspended grid ceiling. Instead of cutting a hole and mounting a backcan, each DCS8T swaps in for a ceiling tile: lift the tile, drop the speaker into its place, and run the wire. The CSMA280 runs eight mixer-channel inputs into two output channels at up to 80W, drives 4 ohm or 8 ohm loads directly, and steps up to 70V or 100V distributed lines through its built-in Hi-Z switch.

Each DCS8T is tuned for both speech and music, with 91 dB sensitivity, a 105-degree dispersion pattern, and a rear-panel knob that selects 10W, 5W, 2.5W, or 8 ohm direct so volume can be set per tile. A low 3.9" mounting depth keeps the speaker clear of ductwork and other obstructions above the grid, and spring-loaded terminals speed up the wiring on an install with this many units. Independent bass, treble, and an automatic sleep mode on the amplifier round out a system built to go in fast and run without much attention afterward.
