IRX115S

The JBL IRX115S is a 15-inch powered subwoofer that adds real low end to a portable PA. A custom 15-inch woofer with a 3-inch voice coil and a matched amplifier produce 128 dB peak SPL in a tuned, ported cabinet, extending IRX systems down where 8-inch and 12-inch tops run out.

Setup is deliberately simple. Crossover frequency and polarity switches sit on the back panel, with 80, 100 and 120 Hz points chosen to match JBL IRX full-range speakers. Pick the point that matches your tops, set polarity, and the system is aligned without outboard processing.

The ported enclosure raises output and reduces woofer noise, and a built-in pole mount puts a full-range speaker directly above the sub so the whole rig occupies one footprint. A reinforced grille protects the driver during transport without restricting output.

At 65.3 lb with sturdy ergonomic handles, it is manageable for one person to load and position. Musicians, DJs, presenters and fitness instructors running IRX108BT or IRX112BT tops get the missing bottom octave with two switch settings and one cable.
