This pair of JBL Control 68HP pendant loudspeakers in white is built for open-ceiling commercial spaces like retail stores, atriums, convention centers, and transit hubs, where a hanging speaker needs to cover a wide area with consistent sound while matching a lighter ceiling finish. Each speaker uses a coaxial design with an 8-inch Kevlar-reinforced woofer and a titanium-dome compression driver, handling up to 250W continuous (1,000W peak) for 114 dB of sustained output and 120 dB at peak.

A 68-watt multi-tap transformer switches between 70V or 100V distributed audio lines and standard 8-ohm direct operation, so the pair drops into an existing commercial sound system without a separate amplifier per speaker. A 110-degree constant-directivity coverage pattern means fewer speakers can cover the same floor area, cutting down the total speaker count needed for a given installation.

Installation uses a secure hanging system with both a main and a safety suspension cable per speaker, each rated with 4.5 meters of galvanized steel wire rope and UL-listed fasteners, so mounting height adjusts easily during setup.
