Product Description

The JBL JRX218S is a compact passive 18-inch subwoofer for systems running outboard amplification. It handles 350W continuous and 1,400W peak at 4 ohms, reaching 133 dB peak SPL and extending down to 34 Hz, which is where kick drums, bass synths and program tracks live.

The M118-4 low-frequency driver sits in a 19 mm MDF enclosure carpeted in black, a finish that shrugs off scuffs from repeated load-ins better than paint. Non-resonant all-steel handles and an 18-gauge perforated steel grille round out a cabinet built for the road at 71 lb.

A top-mounted cast aluminum 36 mm pole receptacle accepts the optional SS3BK pole, so the subwoofer doubles as the base for a mid-high cabinet. That keeps the rig on one footprint per side and shortens cable runs on stage.

Two parallel Neutrik Speakon NL-4 connectors handle input and link, so multiple subs chain from a single amplifier output. Recommended amplifier power is 350W to 700W into 4 ohms. Pair it with JRX212 or JRX215 tops to build a full-range passive system.
