The KW-M695BW is a double-DIN receiver that runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly over built-in Wi-Fi, or over USB when you want a cable and the faster charge. The 6.8-inch WSVGA capacitive touchscreen resolves about 1.6 times the detail of a conventional WVGA panel, and gesture touch control moves through tracks and menus with a swipe.

iDatalink Maestro support is the differentiator here. With an RR or RR2 module (sold separately), the receiver retains factory steering wheel audio controls, the factory amplifier, and secondary displays, and it can show vehicle information such as performance data, climate settings, and battery voltage on screen. In a late-model truck or SUV, that keeps the dash working the way it did before the swap.

Three pairs of 2.5V preamp outputs, subwoofer included, feed external amplifiers. Onboard power is 50W x 4 maximum and 22W x 4 full bandwidth, with a 13-band graphic EQ, 7 presets plus 3 user slots, bass boost, speaker size control, filters, and time alignment. It is SiriusXM Ready with the separate tuner, which adds over 100 channels of music, sports, and talk.

Wireless mirroring through the MirrorApp+ app covers apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth handles calls through the built-in microphone with wideband speech, AVRCP 1.6 browsing, and automatic pairing for iPhone and Android. USB charging supplies up to 2.1A, a rear view camera input is on board, and the short rear chassis keeps cable routing manageable behind the dash.
