Product Description

The 43C84 is an 8-inch Comp subwoofer with a single 4-ohm voice coil, aimed at builds where space is the limiting factor. A small car, a truck with an under-seat box, or a system that needs low end without giving up the trunk all point to an 8 rather than a 12.

Enclosure requirements are the reason. Sealed volume runs 0.5 to 1.2 cu ft and vented runs 0.66 to 1.2 cu ft, small enough to sit under a rear seat or behind a cab. Mounting depth is 4 in, so it clears in places a deeper driver will not.

Recommended power is 50 to 100 watts RMS with 200 watts peak handling, a range covered by a compact amplifier that does not need a dedicated electrical upgrade. Xmax is 10.8 mm, which is real excursion for this size and the reason the sub produces output that reads as bass rather than upper-midbass thump. Frequency response runs 30 to 500 Hz.

It is a Comp, so the fundamentals hold: a single 4-ohm coil for straightforward wiring and a build meant to run daily. Choose it when the enclosure has to be small and the bass still has to be there.
