The 46CSC684 is a pair of CS-Series 6x8-inch two-way coaxial speakers made for the oval door openings found in many domestic cars and trucks. They bolt into the factory location and replace a stock driver that was built to a cost, not to a spec.

The upgrade starts at the motor. A heavy-duty magnet structure with EVC Extended Voice Coil technology keeps the coil in a controlled gap through its full travel, which is what allows higher output without the cone breaking up. A stamped-steel frame supports the rigid polypropylene cone, and the ribbed, UV-treated poly-foam surround handles sun, heat, and door moisture over years of use.

Near-zero tweeter protrusion keeps the install simple. The 1/2-inch PEI dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet sits flat, so factory grilles snap back on without rubbing. Mounting hole size is 5 x 7-3/16 inches, top mount depth is 3/8 inch, and bottom mount depth is 2-3/16 inch.

Each speaker handles 75 W RMS and 225 W peak, with 90 dB sensitivity and a 45 Hz to 20 kHz range. High sensitivity means these get loud on head unit power and louder still on an amplifier. For a factory 6x8 opening, this is a drop-in path to clearer highs and stronger mid-bass.
