The 46CSS654 is a CS-Series 6-1/2 inch component system: two woofers, two 3/4-inch titanium dome tweeters, and two external crossovers. Separating the tweeter from the woofer is what lifts the soundstage off the floor, because the tweeter can be mounted high on a door, a sail panel, or an A-pillar instead of down by your knees.

The woofers use a heavy-duty motor and magnet structure with EVC Extended Voice Coil technology and a rigid polypropylene cone with a UV-treated poly-foam surround. Phase plugs in the cones control distortion, and a 4-13/16 inch mounting hole with 1-11/16 inch bottom mount depth fits common factory door locations.

The titanium tweeters with neodymium magnets reveal detail that a coaxial PEI dome does not reach. Three mounting options ship in the box: flush, angled, and surface pods, so you can aim the tweeter at the listening position instead of accepting where it happens to land.

Each external crossover uses a 12 dB slope at 4000 Hz with a three-position tweeter level switch at 0, 3, and 6 dB, so you can tune the top end to the vehicle and to your taste. The compact crossover footprint fits behind a door panel or kick panel without a fight. Each speaker handles 100 W RMS and 300 W peak, with response from 35 Hz to 21 kHz. Bolt-thru steel mesh grilles are included.
