The 46CSS684 is a CS-Series 6x8-inch component system, built for vehicles with factory oval door openings that would otherwise be limited to coaxial replacements. Splitting the woofer and tweeter is what separates a component set from a coaxial: the tweeter mounts high and near the listener, so vocals come from the windshield line rather than the floor.

The 6x8 woofers use a rigid polypropylene cone with EVC Extended Voice Coil technology and a heavy-duty motor structure. Phase plugs in the cones control distortion, and the UV-treated poly-foam surround holds up to door heat and moisture. Woofer mounting hole size is 5 x 7-3/16 inches with 2-3/16 inch bottom mount depth, matching factory 6x8 locations.

Each 3/4-inch titanium dome tweeter runs through its own external crossover with a 12 dB slope at 4000 Hz and a three-position level switch at 0, 3, and 6 dB. Titanium construction with neodymium magnets brings out detail in vocals and percussion that a coaxial dome cannot resolve. Flush, angled, and surface pods ship in the box for aiming the tweeter where it works best.

Each speaker handles 75 W RMS and 225 W peak, with response from 40 Hz to 21 kHz. Steel mesh grilles protect the woofers. For an oval-door vehicle where you want a proper front stage, this system gets there without cutting metal.
