Signature red double stitching bonds the Santoprene surround to the polypropylene cone, a joint that holds together under heavy excursion. SoloKon technology joins the cone to a vented back brace, creating one integrated unit that cools the motor and keeps distortion down at high volume. An advanced suspension and heat management system keeps the bass deep and consistent as output climbs. Forced Air Cooling moves air through the motor structure so the sub runs about 25 percent cooler than the previous generation, which holds output steady through long listening sessions. The CompR 15 works in a sealed or ported enclosure. A sealed box between 1.8 and 3.0 cu ft keeps bass tight and accurate, which suits rock, country, and acoustic material. A ported box between 3.0 and 5.0 cu ft trades some of that control for extra output on hip-hop and electronic tracks. Mounting depth is 7-15/16 in with a 13-3/4 in cutout, so it fits behind a rear seat or under a truck bench in most vehicles.
