These 7-inch ST-Series mid-range speakers are built on PA logic: get loud, stay clear, and let the subwoofers handle everything below 80 Hz. The square cone puts nearly 20 percent more radiating area in the same mounting footprint as a round 7, which is why the pair reaches 92 dB sensitivity and 500 watts peak handling. Each speaker takes 50 to 250 watts RMS at 4 ohms, a straightforward match for one channel of a two-channel amplifier per side. Response runs 80 Hz to 7.5 kHz, deliberately voiced so vocals and instruments cut through very loud bass instead of muddying it, with bullet tweeters covering the top end. The cone is pressed pulp with a treated cloth surround, a combination chosen for stiffness and control at high excursion rather than for looks. Spring-loaded terminals accept 12 AWG wire, so you can run the heavy gauge these speakers deserve without adapters. Mounting depth is 3-1/16 inches behind a 5-7/8-inch square cutout, and a cutout template comes in the box to make door panel, kick panel and wall builds accurate the first time.
