The 50CWCD124 is a 12-inch CompC subwoofer built to cover the ground between a factory upgrade and a competition sub. Dual four-ohm voice coils let you wire in parallel for a 2-ohm load or in series for 8 ohms, so the sub matches the amplifier you already have rather than the other way around. Spring-loaded terminals make the connection without soldering, which keeps the install short. Recommended power is 150-300 watts RMS with 600 watts peak, so a mid-size monoblock runs it properly. The cone is injection-molded polypropylene with a ribbed polyurethane surround and the signature yellow stitching, a combination that handles the excursion this sub was reengineered for without losing control. Forced-Air Cooling moves air through the motor so the voice coil survives long, loud playback, and high-strength Spiralead tinsel leads hold up to the constant flexing that wears out ordinary leads.
