Product Description

The CompVR 12-inch subwoofer is the workhorse of the KICKER round subwoofer lineup: enough output to matter, built for a system that gets used every day rather than measured once at a competition. It handles 225-450W RMS with 900W peak and 86.9dB sensitivity.

The 4-Ohm dual voice coil version is the flexible one: parallel the coils for a 2-Ohm load, wire them in series for 8 Ohms, or run pairs of subs at 1 Ohm total, so the sub adapts to whatever amplifier you already own.

A stiff polypropylene cone sits on a powerful motor with dual high-temperature voice coils, a combination built to take continuous power without thermal fade. A large-diameter progressive-roll spider and a Santoprene surround keep cone movement linear at high excursion, which is what separates clean output from distorted noise.

This sub needs a sealed or ported enclosure to perform. Sealed volumes run 1-4.6 cu ft (28.3-130 L) for tight, controlled bass that stays accurate with rock and acoustic material. Ported volumes run 1.75-2.25 cu ft (49.6-63.7 L) and trade some control for output, which suits hip-hop and electronic music that lives in the bottom octave. Mounting takes a 11" (27.9 cm) cutout with 6-3/8" (16.2 cm) of depth, so measure the space behind the panel before ordering.

Good fits include a trunk build in a sedan, a behind-seat box in a truck, a cargo-area enclosure in an SUV, or a first subwoofer for someone upgrading past factory audio.

Features

    • Wiring That Adapts To Your Amp

Dual 4-Ohm voice coils wire to 2 Ohms in parallel or 8 Ohms in series, so the sub matches the amplifier you own instead of forcing a new purchase.

    • Power It Every Day

Rated for 225-450W RMS with 900W peak handling, the motor and dual high-temp voice coils take continuous power without the thermal fade cheap subs show.

    • Linear Motion At High Excursion

A large-diameter progressive-roll spider and Santoprene surround keep the cone moving straight under power, so hard bass lines stay defined instead of turning muddy.

    • Choose Your Bass Character

Sealed enclosures from 1-4.6 cu ft (28.3-130 L) keep bass tight and accurate, while ported volumes from 1.75-2.25 cu ft (49.6-63.7 L) trade control for output in the bottom octave.

    • Plan The Install First

A 11" (27.9 cm) cutout with 6-3/8" (16.2 cm) of mounting depth tells you up front whether the trunk, truck cab, or cargo area has the room.
