LCT 81C/T

The LCT 81C/T drops straight into a standard 2' x 2' suspended grid ceiling in place of a tile, so you get full-range background music and clear paging without cutting a single ceiling tile. That keeps installs fast, tidy, and low on labor across classrooms, retail floors, offices, waiting rooms, courtrooms, and meeting spaces. At just 4.1" deep, it fits shallow plenums and ceilings crowded with ductwork or conduit where deeper backcans won't go.

Inside, an 8" dual-cone driver with a 1" Kapton-former voice coil and high-temperature wire delivers 96 dB sensitivity, so even low transformer taps produce plenty of level for speech and light-to-medium music. A built-in 10W transformer runs on 70V or 100V distributed lines with 10W, 5W, and 2.5W taps (plus 1.3W at 70V), or you can switch to the 8 ohm setting and run it from a low-impedance amplifier at 20W continuous pink noise. A rotary selector on the side of the backcan makes tap changes quick, even after the speaker is sitting in the grid.

Wiring connects as bare wire inside a touch-proof compartment with top or side knockout entry, and two seismic safety tabs plus four corner holes give you solid attachment points to the ceiling deck. The steel enclosure, baffle, and white perforated grille carry UL1480A and UL2043 certifications for use in air handling plenum spaces, while 100° conical coverage spreads sound evenly across the room below.
