The 1202VLZ4 packs Mackie's high-headroom, low-noise VLZ design into a 12-channel mixer built for engineers who need clean signal from every input to every output. Four Onyx mic preamps deliver a 60 dB gain range and 128.5 dB of dynamic range, with distortion held under 0.0007 percent from 20 Hz to 50 kHz, so vocals and instruments stay true through the whole signal path. A 3-band EQ centered at 80 Hz, 2.5 kHz, and 12 kHz shapes tone on every channel, and an 18 dB per octave, 75 Hz low-cut filter on the mic inputs clears out rumble before it reaches the mix. Two aux sends with level, pan, and PFL solo on each channel route signal to monitors or effects, while two stereo returns and an ALT 3/4 bus add flexibility for connecting outboard gear or splitting the mix. High-resolution 12-segment stereo meters give an at-a-glance read on levels, and sealed rotary controls keep dust and spilled drinks from causing problems mid-show.
