The Mackie 802VLZ4 is an 8-channel compact analog mixer for small bands, podcast and broadcast rooms, AV carts and worship setups that need three mic inputs plus stereo sources. Three Onyx mic preamps bring a 60 dB gain range, 128.5 dB dynamic range, +22 dBu line input handling and distortion under 0.0007%, so quiet mics and loud sources both sit clean. Phantom power runs condensers, and improved RF rejection keeps wireless buzz off broadcast feeds.

Channels 1 and 2 have selectable Hi-Z inputs for guitar, bass or keyboard with no DI box needed. Eight high-headroom line inputs total accept laptops, playback decks and wireless receivers. Three-band EQ at 80 Hz, 2.5 kHz and 12 kHz plus an 18 dB/oct 100 Hz low-cut filter clears rumble and shapes tone per channel, and every channel has level, pan and PFL solo. One aux send feeds a monitor wedge or outboard reverb, and the stereo return brings effects or a second playback source back in.

The ALT 3/4 stereo bus creates a second output path for a recording feed or a separate zone, and the control room/phones source matrix makes cueing simple. High-resolution 12-segment stereo meters, high-contrast knobs and sealed rotary controls keep it readable and reliable in dark, dusty rooms. The Built-Like-A-Tank steel chassis with powder-coat finish handles regular transport.
