FKB169

The MB Quart FKB169 is a pair of 6x9-inch two-way coaxial speakers, the largest in the Formula coaxial line and the one to pick when you want low end without adding a subwoofer. Each speaker handles 75 W RMS and 150 W peak, for 150 W RMS and 300 W peak per pair. The large oval cone area, paired with 46 Hz low-end reach, moves enough air for real bass in rear decks, rear doors, and truck panels. A 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter mounts at the cone center with a 12 dB crossover slope for an even handoff into the treble, taking response to 20 kHz. Thermal-formed polypropylene cones stay light for fast midrange, and butyl rubber surrounds add mid-bass impact while resisting heat, cold, and moisture. A pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former builds strong magnetic force and dissipates heat, helped by over-coil cooling through the epoxy-infused natural fiber spider. High-temp adhesive locks the cone to the surround under sustained high power, and heavy gauge progressive-die stamped steel frames keep the basket from flexing. A textured ABS gasket seals to the mounting surface for a rigid, quiet fit. Sensitivity is 88 dB. Cutout measures 8.64 x 5.98 inches with a 10.35 x 7.20-inch outside dimension and 3.35-inch mounting depth, so confirm clearance under rear decks before install. Connect with spade terminals or solder direct.
