Product Description

The MB Quart FSB216 is a 6.5-inch component system: separate midbass drivers, separate tweeters, and external passive crossovers. Splitting the tweeter out of the cone lets you mount it high on the sail panel or A-pillar, which lifts the soundstage to eye level instead of leaving vocals down at your knees. Each channel handles 70 W RMS and 140 W peak, for 140 W RMS and 280 W peak per pair, matched to a typical 75 to 100 W per channel amplifier. Response runs 55 Hz to 20 kHz with a 2 kHz crossover point on a 12 dB slope. The external Butterworth passive crossover housing is compact enough to hide behind a panel and gives a clean transition from midbass to tweeter. Large component tweeters use aluminum domes for clear highs at high power without harshness. Thermal-formed polypropylene cones keep midrange fast, and butyl rubber surrounds add mid-bass depth and survive door temperature swings. Inside the motor, a pure copper voice coil on a Kapton former builds strong magnetic force and sheds heat through an over-coil cooling path in the natural fiber spider. Heavy gauge stamped steel frames resist flex, and a textured ABS gasket seals to the panel. Midbass mounting uses a 5.59-inch cutout, 7.01-inch outside diameter, and 2.12-inch depth, so these fit the same openings as most 6.5-inch coaxials.

Features

    • Vocals At Eye Level

Separate tweeters mount on the sail panel or A-pillar, lifting the soundstage up to the windshield instead of the floor.

    • Crossovers You Can Hide

External passive Butterworth crossovers use a compact housing that tucks behind door trim or kick panels during installation.

    • Amplifier Ready Power Handling

      70 W RMS and 140 W peak per channel pair naturally with a 75 to 100 W per channel four-channel amplifier.

    • Clean Highs At High Volume

Large aluminum dome tweeters handle substantial power to 20 kHz and stay clear rather than turning harsh when you turn it up.

    • Drops Into Stock Openings

The 6.5-inch midbass uses a 5.59-inch cutout with 2.12-inch depth, matching common factory locations for a straightforward install.
